ABOUT YOU
Dalberg Advisors is looking to hire a Contract Administrator/ Paralegal to provide support across the legal, contracting, and finance functions. The role supports the review and management of commercial agreements, maintains accurate contract and IP records, and ensures contracting processes (intake, approvals, execution, and storage) are timely, consistent, and well-coordinated, escalating legal issues to counsel as appropriate.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
Key Skills
- Strong commercial contract support and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage constructively with counterparties and reach balanced, pragmatic outcomes within approved parameters
- Sound judgment in spotting legal and commercial risk, applying playbooks, and knowing when to escalate to counsel or management
- Excellent prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and focus on what matters most
- Clear and confident written communication, including explaining contract process and key terms to non-legal stakeholders
- Highly organised and detail oriented, with strong follow-through on admin and process
- Ability to work independently while staying closely aligned with relevant teams
- Practical, business minded approach rather than a purely academic or theoretical one
- Fluency in English
Educational Qualifications
- Paralegal qualification, law degree, or equivalent practical experience in commercial contracting and legal operations
- Strong grounding in contract principles and practical experience applying them in a business environment
Work Experience
- 5+ years of experience supporting the review and administration of commercial contracts (or equivalent experience)
- Experience supporting in-house legal teams or working in a professional services or advisory environment
- Experience handling contract administration (intake, approvals, signature, contract lifecycle management (CLM) hygiene) alongside substantive contract support
- Exposure to IP administration and licensing, and data protection, preferred
WHAT YOU WILL DO AND HOW YOU WILL GROW
Commercial Contracts Review
- Draft, review, mark-up, and administer a range of commercial agreements (e.g., services agreements, NDAs, vendor contracts, licences, and amendments) using approved templates and playbooks, escalating deviations and legal issues as required
- Identify legal, commercial, and risk issues and propose pragmatic positions
- Track contracts through intake, review, approval, execution, and storage in the contract lifecycle management (CLM) system or contract repository, ensuring version control and audit-ready records
- Support contract standardisation, clause libraries, and internal playbooks by capturing learnings from negotiations and maintaining template updates for legal review
Legal, Contracting, and Finance Support
- Provide day-to-day support to the finance, legal, and management teams, including managing the contract intake queue, triaging requests, and coordinating internal stakeholders to meet deadlines
- Coordinate with external counsel and support the management of legal workstreams
- Maintain contract templates, precedents, and internal guidance materials
- Track key obligations, deliverables, renewals, and termination dates.
IP & Legal Administration
- Support IP administration (as applicable) including tracking ownership, licences, and filings, maintaining required documentation, and coordinating with counsel and internal teams on instructions, deadlines, and submissions.
- Maintain IP registers, contract repositories, and legal records, including ensuring completeness, version control, and audit-ready filing (e.g., executed agreements, notices, approvals, and supporting documentation)
- Support basic corporate governance and entity administration as required (e.g., maintaining entity records, coordinating signatures/authorisations, supporting routine filings under counsel direction, and supporting company secretarial processes such as partner onboarding and completion documentation, as applicable)
- Handle general legal administration to ensure processes run smoothly, including matter tracking, invoice processing for external counsel, and maintaining organised, searchable records, run standard compliance-related processes with appropriate oversight, including (i) conflicts of interest (COI) intake, tracking, and resolution workflow and (ii) third-party vetting/supplier certification in line with applicable anti-bribery policies.
